Cheerleading Introduction

Forks Township Cheerleading Hey Cheer Fam! Welcome to the 2020 season of Forks Cheerleading! My name is Sara Eichner and I am the Cheerleading Commissioner for the 2nd season. I have 2 daughters in the program and cheered throughout my life. We are currently in search of coaches, team parents, and practice helpers. Without these functions we are unable to have a program. Please contact me if you are interested. We will have Easton High School cheerleaders and former Forks Falcons helping this year with all of our squads, but we need some enthusiastic and patient adults to keep everything running smoothly! If you are a returning cheer family, welcome back! We are in for some changes this year, especially with COVID-19. I hope to improve the program to the best of my ability as I have learned in the past year where we need to be as a competitive program. Fundraising and giving back to our community are going to be part of our season this year! We will offer many opportunities to give back! The program teaches cheering to township residents from kindergarten through eighth grade. The cheerleaders are taught jumps, technique, voice projection, stunts, pyramids, cheers, and dance routines. Optional tumbling opportunities will be offered. Practice begins the last week of July and is held two to three times a week. The practices last from one hour to two hours. Practices are held at the Forks Township Community Park (for the time being). The cheerleaders also participate in the Easton Cheering Clinic, competitions, and perform at Forks Community Days. We will also be cheering in the Easton Phillipsburg Halloween Parade. This year we are looking to partner up with our rivals, The Palmer Panthers, to start some new and exciting traditions. The season lasts until approximately the end of November. Parents are asked to volunteer 3 hours for each child in the program. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me about ways to volunteer for parents who may have demanding jobs. We have plenty of opportunity at various different levels. The cheerleaders will cheer for the Forks Falcons in the Eastern PA Youth Football League(http://www.epyfl.org/) . The football games begin the last week of August and are held on Saturdays or Sundays. If our football teams make the playoffs the girls will have additional games to cheer. In addition to learning the sport of cheerleading, the cheerleaders are also are taught spirit, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and dedication. If you have any questions, please contact me at forksfalconettescheer@yahoo.com I look forward to getting to know your families! LET’S GO FALCONS!
